For some people cooking when you move out can be quite difficult, maybe you’re not used to it as you’ve always lived at home and someone’s cooked for you. Or maybe not and you've always been quite independent but either way cooking for yourself every night can take some getting used too. This post is to give you some ideas of some easy meals that don’t take too much time to make incase you need some inspiration one day🌟
❗️these were not made by a chef❗️(even tho it might look like it ;)) me and my flat mates just made them and loved them!
1. PASTA🍝
Pasta is amazing you can do so much with it and it’s so cheap and can be simple to make! This is some of our go to’s:
- Vodka pasta
- Feta pasta (picture 1)
- Pesto pasta (quick option)
- Chicken Alfredo (picture 2)
- Stir in sauces (very good for when you’re feeling lazy)
2. Fried rice 🍚
This has been one of our favourites since moving out, I didn’t realise how simple it was to make! Most of the time we just have this on its own but this was a night we had it with homemade salt and pepper chicken:
If you’re thinking that is not an easy meal, we used microwave rice for the fried rice, bought the chicken already breaded (iceland♥️) and fried some peppers and the chicken in Chinese 5 spice!
Fried rice with quorn pieces is a go to in our flat because sometimes chickens scary😃
3. Burritos🌯
We loveee burritos in our flat. You can literally add anything you want and they always taste amazing and are very filling! Our go to is chicken, peppers, rice, avocado, salsa, tomato and cheese. Amazing.
Fajitas aswell, especially if you live with people meals like this are good. And they don’t always have to be complicated we had burritos yesterday and were feeling lazy so they were just rice, chopped up chicken nuggets😭, peppers, salsa and cheese.
4. Soupppp🥫
The perfect cold rainy night after a long day of uni dinner. Soup is so simple but you cant go wrong, we don’t home make it because we don’t have a blender but the tins are just as good. We love to have soup with a wee toastie!
5. Chicken curry🥘
So random, but the curry kits you but in the shops are so good! They come with all the spices and the sauces are already made just make some microwave rice and get some nan breads or popadoms if you like and in 20 mins you have a nice homely meal. We love the butter chicken and tikka masala ☺️
Hope you’ve been inspired💫😋
These look so good!! 😍
